S.O.S. – SAVE OUR SCHOOL
SANTA CLARITA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Our Santa Clarita Elementary School was built in 1960 and is now 65 years old. The Saugus Union School District (SUSD) has closed the school and is currently determining the future of the property. There have been several meetings with the community, concerned citizens, and the 7-11 committee. Many alternate uses for the property have been suggested.

S.O.S. is concerned that the unique architecture of the school will be lost if the building is demolished. We would like to see the building repurposed for other uses that will benefit the people of Santa Clarita.

We do not want this historic example of Mid Century Modern architecture to be retired by the wrecking ball and buried in a landfill.

IT IS OUR DUTY TO SAVE THIS EDIFICE FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS
